OTHER NON-BAST FIBRES
Botanically, the fibres havested from many Fibre plants are bast fibres; Bast Fibres are where the fibres come from the phloem tissue of the plant. Other Non-Bast fibre crop fibres are from seed padding, leaf fibre, or other parts of the plant.
Cotton, Bamboo fibre, kapok, Coir and Sisal are good examples of commercially used non-bast fibres. Other non-Bast fibres lesser used by industry are included in this Section. These include:
