OTHER BAST FIBRES

Botanically, the fibres havested from many Fibre plants are bast fibres; Bast Fibres are where the fibres come from the phloem tissue of the plant. Other fibre crop fibres are from seed padding, leaf fibre, or other parts of the plant.

Jute, Flax, Ramie and hemp are good examples of commercially used bast fibres. Other Bast fibres lesser used by industry are included in this Section. These include:
